Why This Piece

A blue-dial pilot's chronograph that comes alive in daylight, and one of our favorite IWC Pilot references to actually wear.

The blue dial is the reason this one stays in the rotation: in direct sun it opens up and reads with real depth, while indoors it settles into something closer to navy. It wears like the sport watch it is, legible at a glance with the crown and pushers falling naturally under the fingers, so you use the chronograph instead of admiring it. On the strap it sits close enough to the wrist that you forget it is there through a full day, which is not something every chronograph of this size manages. It is at home with a jacket and just as happy on a weekend, but it never asks to be treated carefully. Of everything in the IWC Pilot family that passes through our hands, this is the one we reach for first.
